Stephanie of Song Mavericks Group offers at-home private lessons for first time music students regardless of how much experience they have had with the instrument prior.

Before taking lessons, your child should be showing a strong interest in music or a particular instrument. A helpful way to gauge interest is by taking your child to a group music lesson where a variety of instruments are offered. On occasion, Stephanie may offer a group lesson with guitar, piano, and sing alongs. Any events will be shared to social media.

Stephanie offers guitar, piano, and vocal lessons to beginner students.

Each lesson includes one private email to parents 24 hours in advance of the lesson and one email 24 hours after the lesson that summarizes practice information and progress.

Trial lessons are 1 hour with an investment of $50.

After this, I will recommend the purchase of a package of 5.

30 minute lessons are an investment of $200 and recommended for ages 4-7

1 hour lessons are an investment of $300 and recommended for ages 8-12.

The format of the lesson is given below but will vary greatly depending on the child and parent's needs.

Book A Trial Lesson

Guitar Lesson

Guitar lessons include a combination of working on finger exercise to strengthen and stretch the hand for playing as well as learning songs to improve rhythm and transitions from one chord to the next. Song books are usually not required for guitar lessons unless the student is motivated to purchase one on their own. Songs used in the lessons are sourced from various sites around the web.

Voice Lesson

Voice lessons will start out with a warm up that supports the goals we are working on together. Some examples of goals can be strengthening the voice as a whole or strengthening a certain aspect of the voice such as head voice or chest voice. Other examples include matching pitch or simply feeling comfortable singing out loud. Vocal lessons vary greatly in goals as singing is a more vulnerable act than picking up an instrument. After warming up, the student will sing a song they enjoy that challenges them on a skill they are working on currently.

Piano Lesson

Piano lessons start with a warmup that enhances the students ability to comfortably move their fingers around the keyboard. These are the only lessons where a song or method book is preferred. Stephanie will choose a book based on the student's goals and needs.
